October 2022 storm reports: hail, wind and tornadoes

In October 2022, 169 hail, 214 damaging-wind and 38 tornado reports were logged on 19 storm days across 34 states. The largest hail reported was 3.00″ (teacup size) in Jackson County, AR on October 15, 2022. The most hail reports came on October 15, 2022 (59). Radar estimated hail of 1 inch or larger on 29 days; the widest swath, on October 12, 2022, covered 1,205 square miles.
