North Dakota had hail reported on 364 days from 2016 to 2025, about 36 a year, and on 1,724 days since 1955. The largest hailstone on record in the state is 8.00″ (July 21, 1969). Morton County had the most hail days of any county from 2016 to 2025 (46).
