Disclaimer
National Storms reports what public weather records show near a place. It does not tell you whether a specific roof, car or property was damaged.
Radar-estimated, not measured
Radar hail sizes are NOAA MRMS estimates (MESH) of the largest hailstone in a storm. They can be off by an inch or more either way and do not confirm that hail reached the ground at any particular spot.
“Near”, not “at”
Storm reports are points recorded by spotters, the public and National Weather Service staff, often rounded to the nearest town. A report near a city, or a radar estimate over an area, does not mean hail fell at a given address.
Not a damage assessment
Nothing on this site is a damage assessment, inspection, insurance determination or professional opinion. For a claim or repair decision, rely on a physical inspection by a qualified professional and your insurer.
Not affiliated with NOAA or the National Weather Service
National Storms is independent. It is not a government website and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by NOAA, the National Weather Service, the Storm Prediction Center, the Iowa Environmental Mesonet or the US Census Bureau. Our maps and counts are our own processing of their public data.
