In October 2023, 218 hail, 189 damaging-wind and 32 tornado reports were logged on 15 storm days across 19 states. The largest hail reported was 3.00″ (teacup size) in Norton County, KS on October 3, 2023. The most hail reports came on October 3, 2023 (58). Radar estimated hail of 1 inch or larger on 21 days; the widest swath, on October 4, 2023, covered 5,214 square miles.
