December 2022 storm reports: hail, wind and tornadoes

In December 2022, 20 hail, 60 damaging-wind and 78 tornado reports were logged on 12 storm days across 15 states. The largest hail reported was 2.50″ (tennis ball size) in Beaver County, OK on December 12, 2022. The most hail reports came on December 13, 2022 (9). Tornadoes killed 3. Radar estimated hail of 1 inch or larger on 20 days; the widest swath, on December 13, 2022, covered 118 square miles.
