December 2019 storm reports: hail, wind and tornadoes

In December 2019, 39 hail, 149 damaging-wind and 59 tornado reports were logged on 11 storm days across 21 states. The largest hail reported was 1.75″ (golf ball size) in Concordia Parish, LA on December 16, 2019. The most hail reports came on December 16, 2019 (18). Tornadoes killed 3. Radar estimated hail of 1 inch or larger on 26 days; the widest swath, on December 8, 2019, covered 613 square miles.
