West Virginia had hail reported on 145 days from 2016 to 2025, about 15 a year, and on 782 days since 1955. The largest hailstone on record in the state is 4.50″ (July 9, 1980). Kanawha County had the most hail days of any county from 2016 to 2025 (19).
